Welcome to the Kitchen Forum FAQ
Welcome, big welcome, to you!! The Kitchen Forum site has more information about kitchens than you ever dreamed existed. Whether you are tackling a total tear out or doing a low budget facelift, or if you just love kitchens, this is place to be. Stymied on a faucet? Frustrated at your contractor? Confused about cabinet fittings? Obsessing over tile? This is the place to ask, learn, worry, rant and celebrate.
You have found the Kitchen Forum FAQ, developed to answer common questions about the Forum and to preserve thread content that would otherwise scroll off and be lost. Like the Finished Kitchens Blog, this is located off site. To get back to the Forum, or to visit the Blog pictures, just click on the links at the top of this page.
To the top left are some orienting Basic FAQ for newcomers under How To Use The Kitchen Forum. There you will find a few FAQ on How the Kitchen Forum Works. If you have used other Internet message boards, that will be pretty familiar. Most people start in the Forum by reading (”lurking”). So next up are some FAQ on Finding Information to help you find your way around. Once you are ready to jump in and start posting, the FAQ on Jumping In and Posting will help you. And last, FAQ on Adding Pictures and Links will teach you how to embed a picture, and for you more adventurous types, how to add clickable links and enlargeable pictures.
Again, welcome!

Hey Starpooh and Celticmoon… No, you did better than good; this is simply incredible. Fantastic job, and thanks to you both! You have kitchen forum guru status in my book. It’s great to see a faq that is so well-written and executed. You’ve created something that will be referenced for years to come, and you shine like the stars and moon!

This is remarkable. I can’t believe how quickly this came together and how attractive and useful the site is.
One point… On my computer, to return to the Forum or FKB, the links are at the top of the page not on the right.

Thanks Sienna. Good pick up! I fixed the instructions on getting back to the Forum.

oops sorry that was me! I moved the links since I am still experimenting with the page layout. (Trying to figure out which links are used frequently then moving them to the top of the page to be more accessible.)

Thanks for this great aggregation of information. I am new to the Garden Web and the wonderful people who post there. I have learned a great deal in the few weeks that I have lerked there. I have also begun posting and receiving all kinds of good advice. Here you have gathered the best of that in one easy findable resource. Good work!
Regards,
Art

You gals have done a spectacular job! Many thanks.
Do you think it would be worthwhile to add BillV’s instructions for DIYing a tile countertop? He has very patiently reentered the same information several times, but it keeps falling off. There’s a thread about doing the undermount sink with tile on the forum now, but it won’t last long. It’s at http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg011359244311.html?2 He’d probably be glad to put together the whole process for you so he won’t have to keep reentering it.

good idea catbird! I will seek Bill’s permission and add this if he says OK!
